2010 MERCURY ENERGY TACTIX TEAM ANNOUNCED
Retaining six players from their 2009 lineup, the Mercury Energy Tactix have welcomed six fresh faces to the ranks in 2010.
One of the key signings for the Mercury Energy Tactix was the inclusion of ex-Queensland Firebirds captain Peta Stephens. Peta will provide that competitive Aussie strength to their defence.
The Mercury Energy Tactix are also joined by NZ U21 shooter Ashleigh Smith and 2008 Pulse mid-courter player Hayley Crofts, both from Southland.
New signing Chelsea Pitman, who carries a New Zealand passport but has been living in Australia and NZ U21 player Hannah Poff join the midcourt.
Silver Fern midcourter Maree Bowden, Silver Fern shooter Anna Thompson, 2009 New Zealand Accelerant Group Phillipa Finch and along with NZ U21 shooter Ellen Halpenny also prepare themselves for a third year with the franchise.
Once again Victoria Smith will be part of the Mercury Energy Tactix’s slick defensive unit along with New Zealand U21 and Silver Fern player Charlotte Kight.
The Mercury Energy Tactix begins their campaign against the Pulse in Christchurch on Monday 22 March 2010.
