Leigh is back for her second year with the Tactix and looks forward to building on learnings from her first season in the ANZ Championship.
Leigh represented Otago and Canterbury for many years as a player and was a member of the Silver Ferns that jointly won the 1979 and won outright the 1987 World Championships, captaining the '87 side in Glasgow. Leigh then went on to coach the Canterbury team and the Flames. National coaching duties have included co-coaching the NZ Under 21 to the World Youth Championships title in 1992 and head coach of the Silver Ferns from 1993 - 1997. Leigh returned as Silver Ferns assistant coach and in that time the team won silver and gold at the Commonwealth Games in 2002 and 2006 respectively as well as winning the 2003 World Championships.
Her netball talents are not limited to playing and coaching; she also received her New Zealand umpiring qualification in 1993. In 2009, Leigh was appointed to the INF Rules Panel.
