Community Netball Manager - NetballMainlandZone 

 

 

Netball is New Zealand's leading female sport at both the community and international level. The sport has grown significantly over the past 10 years and is now undertaking an exciting new change. This change has introduced 5 new Zones, with each of the Zones having responsibility for delivering a team in the ANZ Championship and the strategic elements of Community Netball.

The recently established Netball Mainland Zone is seeking a Community Netball / Emerging Talent Manager. The person appointed to this full time role will be the advocate for community netball within our wide geographical zone which encompasses 18 Netball centres. This is a key role within the Zone and will also work in partnership with Netball New Zealand to determine national strategies for Community Netball.

The Community Netball Manager will have input into and ensure effective delivery of a coordinated Community Netball Plan. The plan aims to grow and sustain participation numbers, increase quality and improve capacity and capability of grass roots netball.

Reporting to the Zone CEO, this role will be part of the Zone management team. The successful applicant will possess the following attributes:

  • Minimum 3 years experienced working in a community sport environment
  • Experience and knowledge of netball is desirable
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with diverse stakeholder groups including Netball Centres, other Zones, Regional Sports Trusts and Territorial Authorities
  • Ability to lead a team of staff to deliver to the netball community
  • Capability to build strong networks
  • Ability to develop a community Netball plan in association with Netball New Zealand and
  • Netball centres
  • Ability to lead and advocate for community Netball

This is an exciting opportunity to help establish and develop one of five Netball zones across the country and will be an integral role in supporting netball delivery and establishing the Netball Mainland Zone.
