Jo started playing netball when she was ten years old. Her height makes her an imposing part of any defensive lineup. She was part of the team that won the NZ Secondary Schools title in 2008, as well as tasting victory with the Christchurch Netball Centre Under 19s at the Netball New Zealand Age Group Championships. Jo was also a member of the NZ Under 21 squad from 2009 - 2011.

She was an integral member of the Canterbury A team which won the 2010 and 2011 NPC, and in 2012 was captain of the Canterbury Under 21 squad.         

Jo is currently studying a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Marketing and Finance at Lincoln University and in 2012 was presented with the Lincoln Scholar of the Year award.
